The Imperium Strikes Back

Following the destruction of the original defenders of Fort Ignius, Imperial Command put together a new strike force to destroy the 'Nids. A platoon of troops supported by heavy weapons, one Chimera and two Sentntinels were despatched in the hope of turning the tide.

The first round sees the Royal Regiment PDF strike first supported by a Lascannon and an Autocannon, and they down several Termigaunts and score wounds on the Biovore (partially hidden behind structure)...

Tyranid Warriors charge the Chimera (which takes some damage), which quickly unloaded its troop of Cadians. The Chimera downs one of the attackers...

The Tyranid Barbgaunts neaarly wipes out a PDF squad while destroying an autocannon while losing two of their number!

The Chimera successfully destroys the Warriors...

The Biovore and Termigaunts are also destroyed...

Two survivors of the Royal Guard squad attacks successfully against the Barbgaunts...

The Tyranid Carnifax charges by but does not make contact...

The small (but deadly!) Genestealers attack and completely overwhelm a full PDF squad! The lone autocannon is truly worried...

Heroes are born, as the two valiant Royal Guard troopers wipe out the Barbgaunts...

Unfortunately for the Imperials, the Carnifax and Screaming Killer destroy both Sentinels!

The surviving PDF troops retreat to the top of one of the camp structures, but their Command squad is destroyed by the Killer Screamer. The Imperials do put some hits on the "Nid creature...

After the Genestealers destroyed the last autocannon, the Chiimera gets revenge...

The Heavy Bolter is lost as the Cadians move up...

Following the death of the Carnifax as well as the lost of the last Royal Guard, the Chimera and Cadians

begin their struggle with the Killer Screamer which still has five hits to go...

But as the Imperium knows, the Emperor Protects! The Cadians lose seven of their number, but together with the gallant Chimera crew, they bring down the last 'Nid. It will take some time until the knowledge is learned, but the Tyranid presence on Skyren has been eradicated! 

 

 

Slaughter at Fort Ignius

The Tyranid threat on Skyren continues as a small Imperial fortress comes under attack. The view shows the 'Nids advancing on the defensive wall manned by a Platoon of the Royal Guard of the PDF. The first casualty is a Homogaunt...

On the 'Nids right some genestealers are brought down as well as several strikes against a Carnofex...

But the defenders suffer as well, two heavy weapon teams are gone...

A Biovore (a very old model, hence the size difference) is destroyed...

The PDF strikes hard, taking down 'Gaunts and the wounded Carnofex...

The defenders are hitting the 'Nids hard, but they still can't stop them from reaching the wall. Heavy weapons have basically been cleared off the wall...

Some 'Gaunts make it over the wall to take out a PDF Heavy Bolter but are finally destroyed...

Its disaster on the left wall however, the defenders are wiped out! Out of sight at the exterior base of this wall are genestealers...

Then they are over the wall, accompanied by their Broodlord. Fortunately, the Imperial reserves have an effective volley destroying numerous genestealers...

The third Platoon of the Royal Guard sells their lives dearly, wiping out and killing the Bloodlord!

Another autocannon is lost to Barbgaunts and Termagaunts (top of photo)fire...

The remaining Carnofax along with the Tyranid Warriors takes down the gate as the Royal Guard forms up the last survivors...

The last autocannon is destroyed leaving the defenders with no more heavy weapons just as they need them...

The Royal Regiment tries to hold to the last, but they are simply overwhelmed. The Fortress has been lost!

On Skyren: The Tyranids Strike Against the Orks

The Imperial forces on Skyren  have discovered a sobering fact. Not only has a Ork Rok crashed on to the surface, but so has an undetected Tyranid vessel. Following a bloody engagement with both Xenos, the Imperium was forced to retreat and regather its strength. Next the Greenskins successfully attacked the Adeptus Mechincus facility IT341(previous game). They quickly turned the site into an Orkish encampment!  Ironically the next conflict was between the two Xenos themselves!

A large Tryanid swarm appeared near IT341 (upper right)...

The Greenskins have 5x Mobs along with assorted other units (such as those large Squigs!) on the edge of IT341...

The opposite end of the Ork's line, including 4x Grot tanks...

The assault begins with a Barbnaut barrage which nearly wipes out an Grot gun-crew...

The return fire of the Orks is surprisingly effective as numerous Hormagaunts are swept aside along with one of the two Carnofexes!

On the Tyranid right, only a single Hormagaunt is lost...

The center of the Ork line is charged by a horde of Genestealers, and there are losses for both...

Some of the Hormagaunts reach the Greenskins, and they wipe out the Tankbusters...

The Mob defending the center is down to the Nob (l) and Painboy (r) vs two Genestealers...

The last two Grot gunners go down...

The Orks on the right flank charge the advancing 'Nids, taking out a large number of Neurogaunts...

In the center, only one 'gaunt remains as the Ork Mob strikes out...

A Runt-Herder and his boyz come to the aid of the shrunken Mob and destroy the remaining Genestealers...

On the extreme left of the fight,  2x Von Ryan Leapers are overwhelmed by the Boyz while a third is badly wounded...

The last Leaper brings down another Boyz...

Also on the far left, a shadowy figures strikes at the rear of another Mob! A Lictor has arrived!

Back at the center, while Grot tanks push forward, some Tyranid Warriors make short work of the Runt-Herder and his ladz...

But on the right it is absolute disaster for the Greenskins! Swarms of 'Gaunts and Genestealers completely annihilate a Mob of Beast Snagga Boyz...

And just to the right of that slaughter, a second Mob receives the same fate!

The fight in the center continues with Ripper Swarms and the second Carnofex...

On the left, the Warriors have only the PainBoy to face (the Grot tanks are beginning to wonder if they might be needed elsewhere!)...

The final Leaper is destroyed...

On the left flank, the Lictor will take down some more of the Mob before it too is brought down...

With the right flank totally destroyed; the center nearly so (the Squigs hadn't moved), and the left badly weakened although he Grot Tanks still stand), and game time basically run out, the fight is called, the 'Nids have claimed IT341.
