Steamship and River Gunboat for the Yangzte River Adventures

Here is the “Yangtze Empress”, a four foot model of a large steamer we use for some of the China Adventures:
You can see some of the “Company’ members on deck:
Looking towards the bridge and a character St. Croix seen on the right:
Did make it possible for all decks above cargo deck to lift off. Here is the Captain and the Bridge crew ready to cast off:
View forward from near the rear cargo hold: (beneath the skylights is The Company" quarters)
Of course, after I finished the model, I realized that the Chinese themselves referred to the Yangtze as “Chang Jiang” or simply, the Long River.

What China Adventure could you have without a gunboat. So here is my creation, looking a little like ‘San Pablo’?
I made her so she can double for virtually any 1920s gunboat, and so far she has filled in for the Japanese and “The Company”
The forward business end, showing a 4 incher and crew:
View of the forward portion of the gunboat:
Flying Bridge, manned and ready for the skipper!
Of course, the aft 4 incher:
Last but not least, we see ‘Jake’ reporting to duty as ‘Frenchie’ looks on (I’m sorry that my ‘Frenchie seems to have grown some facial hair, for those of you have viewed Sand Pebbles)
These two vessels have seen a great deal of action in our Chinese Pulp Adventures!
