So the ‘badies’ wish to sack the ‘China Lights’ community. On the left is ‘Celestrial Emperor’ Wu-Chen Fong himself with his brother and right hand man, on the right Li Weh Fong. They’ve come out of the hills with their ragtag force not expecting any resistance. Little do they know that Colonel Blackpool and”The Company” are already at “China Lights”. (He does have a nice automobile, doesn’t he?)
And their target, China Lights:
Top side view of same:
Looking down towards the village, from which the 'Warlord's' army is attacking:
Some of Fong’s boys with his pride and joy, an Austin-Putilov; along with a 75mm howitzer and 150mm mortar. (I especially love the gunner taking a ‘rice-bowl break’!)
The prey, the people of “China Lights’. The founder, Miss Lin Mei-ching (center), who donated her impressive palace upon the death of her husband and #1 wife, to help the people of her village. From left to right we have Nurse Monroe; Dr. Bell; Father O’Grady; Miss Lin; Rev Donahue; and Rev Green (quite the scary-looking character)
Nearby an archaelogical dig is also threatened. Right to left we see Lady Ponsonby a visitor (bad timing); Prof Jackson; Prof Darfield; Prof James with his daughter Lilian and son Matthew.
Here comes the ‘cavalry’: Blackpool’s “Company”. Created to help the Chinese people bring their nation together and end misery and death. (They truly are the ‘good guys’). In the front from right to left is Major Devonshire, the organizing genius; Colonel Backpool himself; and Major Brooke, a heavy weapons expert. In the second row is (r-l) Lt O’Hanlon and Capt MacGregor (Irish and Scot respectfully, of course) Some of “The Company’s major assets including a Rolls AC, Ford MG truck and the Lanchester AC.
In Part I of China Lights,, some of the visiting archaelogical team were kidnapped by Fong. "The Company" staged a nighttime raid on an abandoned monastery and freed all of the hostages. Fong was furious and launched a full scale attack on China Lights. His men were slaughtered by Blackpool and his well-trained force, but Fong and some of his men escaped. (But not that wonderful car! It was taken folowing the death of Fong's bodyguard) Unfortuantely, once again I have no photos of the fight. When the club returns to China, I will do better.
Many may recognize the wonderful Pulp Figures of Bob Murch, which I highly recommend. Service and figures are excellant. Many others were gathered from Artizan Designs (purchased through Brigade Games which I also highly recommend) Good luck on all your adventures!
