Rippeton-Upon-the-Sea

The small town of Rippeton-Upon-the-Sea as seen from the north. Located off the southern edge of this photo, are the BUF forces. A convoy containing vital supplies for their forces to the north has been formed under the command of Captain Allenworth of the BUF Legion (regulars). The four lorries are escorted by the squad of the Legion as well as two squads of BUF militia, also carried in lorries/autos. There is a Vickers Mark III;  Renault D1;  Pz I; and Whippet tanks to guide them through enemy territory to the Loyalists in the north. They will appear along the road in the upper-left.

Local forces loosely unified by the Anglican League have become aware of this convoy, and are preparing to meet it. A column of Regulars commanded by Lt St. Clair, consists of a squad made up of a Naval Landing Party, and Command squad (with a Boys ATR) in a lorry and auto. It is escorted by a Vickers MkII and a Rolls Royce AC and is coming along the road from the upper-right.

Coming down the road from the lower-right, is a column of militia under the command of Acting Sgt. Borneworth. He leads a squad of his own United Mineworkers Association (UMA), with another museum piece, this a Mark IV tank lately restored...

Finally, w/n Rippeton itself is a squad of the United Firemen's Union of Britain (UFUB) led by Acting Sgt. Lewis, with a Boys ATR (that they just happened to 'find'), and a scratchbuilt AC. These three separate units will attempt to halt the BUF convoy!

Led by the Whippet and Vickers MkIII, the BUF convoy sees the enemy to the west (top). Shots are exchanged, but with no hits...
Close up of the Anglican Vickers and Rolls Royce...
Its a hit! The Vickers scores a solid blow against the BUF, immobilizing the Vickers MarkIII! (top)
The BUF forces push the damaged tank off the road, then continue up to the roadblock near Rippeton. Meanwhile, the Anglicans push past the MarkII as it continues to shell (unsuccessfully that is) the Convoy. Note the Renault D1 at bottom which also fired w/o success this turn...
Disaster for the Anglicans, as the BUF Vickers MkIII hits the Rolls, destroying both it's MG as well as destroying the engine...
The UFUB (located inside the large brick building) score some hits themselves, killing the drivers of the large supply lorry, and knocking out the lorry carrying some BUF troopers. Meanwhile, the Whippet has pushed aside the roadblock...
As the bulk of the UMA seek shelter inside the small building, the Whippet drops the lone miner who failed to gain access to relative safety. The Mark IV, which has passed numerous breakdown rolls, fires at it but misses. A squad of BUF militia huddle for safety.
The driver of the disabled Vickers MkIII has jumped out and engaged the first supply lorry in attempt to escape. The other supply lorries are bunched in behind it. The MarkIII and the D1 are exchanging fire with the Anglican MarkII located out of photo (top)..
The makeshift AC sprays MG fire at passing lorries but is close assaulted by the BUF militia. The Whippet has had one of its MGs destroyed by a 6lb shell from the Mark IV (out of photo-bottom)(Note the figs on the roof are Miners located on the second floor)...
While a second supply lorry is disabled, the BUF tanks score big as they destroy the 3lb gun on the Vickers MkII (again out of photo-top)! The red cap is a failed Nerve check (they've become' Jumpy') on the Miners ATR located in an upper floor window. They knocked out that lorry!
A lot of action during this turn. Before the BUF militia can gain their turn, the UMA located in the building to their left, shoot down all but one who gained the top of the AC. The regular squad of the BUF Legion has disembarked from their lorry (top of photo), while the second Buff militia squad also disembarked in front of the Mark III. At the bottom of Rippeton, one can see the Naval Landing Party as well as the Command squad's ATR in front of the Mark II which is firing it's MGs at the BUF...
The sole surviving militiaman on the AC made his attack but failed. You can just make out to the upper-left, a BUF Legionaire who was gunned down by the Firemen in the building to right...
The large black auto containing the BUF Command is passing the MarkIII, while the Pz I moves up to support...
The first two supply lorries are reaching their exit objective...
As those lorries make their escape, the AC, now cleansed of the BUF trooper shoots up another supply lorry. But the Mark IV keeps missing!
The Firemen on the second floor (why they are seen on roof-model has no interior floor which I have to fix) have just shot down the BUF squad leader (lower right), causing their morale to plummet! They rout off the table despite only two casualties! So much for being a regular unit!
A very bad round for the BUF. The Mark IV finally scores a devastating hit on the Whippet, while the Naval Landing Party moves up. The AC then destroys the auto carrying the BUF Command, killing four of the five men, leaving only the Captain himself!
All of the BUF firepower is expended against the walls of the large building, but all of the Firemen (save one casualty) have moved to the rooms opposite!
The Mark IV moves up and survives a shot from the Vickers MarkIII. The Vickers MkII advances up the street. Notice Captain Allenworth racing towards the cover of his tanks...
The MarkIII scores a hit of the MarkIV, but it only destroys one MG (green cap)...
And this is where the struggle ends. A Random Event Card calls for the BUF team to pause for two full turns! They are overrun by the Anglicans! With two supply lorries escaping, but the lost of two others plus all the tanks, it was a massive victory for the Anglicans!
